JOB DESCRIPTION:

Applications Support Team Lead

Reports to: Head of Technology

Main purpose of the role:
Manage a dynamic team of e-commerce applications and systems support people, providing system level and application support of enterprise systems including release management. In this role you are responsible for the reliability, availability, performance and quality of all our clients production and e commerce offerings.

Key responsibilities:
• Manage a team of 4 people responsible for the support and operation of the online presence of our client
• Provide mentoring to your team
• Design and implement systems to meet business needs
• Two way communication with the development and QA teams on both new software releases and fixes to development, test and production issues
• Manage contracted support providers
• Report to senior management on a regular basis
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level IT technical support to company employees and customers
• Point of escalation in relation to active support issues
• Coordinate and communicate with other internal departments
• Ability to perform on call duties on a rotational basis
• Carry out other tasks as required
Duties ratio: 80% Hands On and 20% Team Lead

Technical Competencies:
• 2 to 3 years Unix user experience
• Familiarity with core Unix commands
• Internet facing e-commerce
• In-depth knowledge of debugging problems related to enterprise platforms
• Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to understand complex relationships between components of a multi-tiered distributed application
• Industry experience a distinct advantage

Qualifications:
• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience
