Legal Officer
Location: Leopardstown, Dublin 18

Job Purpose

This role will report to the Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance of Euro Insurances Limited (the ?Company?).
In his/her role the appointed Legal Officer will be responsible for the legal activities of the Company as assigned to him/her from time to time.

For guiding purposes the responsibilities will include:

?Preparation and review of insurance, reinsurance, claims or other contracts that the company enters into associated with it business activities
?Actioning all legal tasks within project plans and reporting on progress within the legal workstream to the project manager
?Managing a panel of external advisers to ensure timelines are met and costs minimised, monitored and reported
?Liaising with the Commercial Team and providing them with regular updates on progress on legal tasks
?Escalation to the Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance of exceptions to contract templates and liaising with counsel to agree on changes, and whether these are ad-hoc changes or template amendments.
?Participation in legal related activities in the day to day business of the company
?Minute taking of meetings of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee
?Company Secretarial duties
?Provide legal assistance in ad hoc departmental and company projects.
?Act within the Program Review Team in relation to legal issues, reviewing current documentation and drafting briefs to local counsel in order to review legislative and regulatory compliance in the countries in which the Company provides insurance services
?Travel will be required from time to time.
?Engagement with relevant bodies and advisers to ensure that regular updates in relation to legislative developments and codes of practice are received and assessed
?Working as part of an overall Legal, Compliance and Risk team within the Company


Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Knowledge and Experience

?Solicitor or barrister (however proficient lawyers with a law degree but without a professional qualification may be considered)
?Have 0-4 years post-qualification experience preferably in a financial services institution
?Experience of cross border sales of financial services on a freedom of services basis or previous experience in a multi-national environment is desirable
?High level of commercial and financial awareness

?Ability to sift through large amounts of information and to research topics on short notice
