JOB DESCRIPTION:
Purpose of the Role:
To advise, guide and support the group leaders daily & to initiate improvements in relation to problematic areas of process and production. Report weekly on outputs, yields, losses, efficiencies and cost minimizations
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing & motivating a team of supervisors
Demonstrate ability to provide support & guidance to supervisors with regard to managing production personnel
Plan & organize the daily production dept work load by area with reference to the production schedule requirements
Batch record review
Coordination of resources to meet the production schedule
Participation in cross functional teams as appropriate
Involved in recruitment & selection activities
Expenditure responsibility for production site
Optimise machine production output
Batch formulation control
Production efficiency / cost minimization / management of operating costs / employee labour efficiencies
Daily & weekly reports on yields
Liaise with Maintenance
Management of manufacturing waste
Quality control system upkeep – BRC
Generation, implementation & leadership of continuous improvement initiatives in yield, output, productivity & related aspects of production activities
Preparation of key performance indicator reports
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum 5 years manufacturing senior supervisory experience
Must have “meat processing” experience
Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and techniques
Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
Experience within a food processing environment
Extensive experience of managing people, problems & issues daily
Knowledge of production schedules and customer demands
Experience with cost minimisation, efficiencies and continuous improvement drives
Qualifications:
Ideally food science qualification or business qualification
Must have a working knowledge of HACCP, BRC & ISO standards in practice
