Role / Opportunity

The role of the Systems Administrator involves the installation, maintenance and support of IT systems, networks, infrastructure and technologies.
- Monitoring of critical infrastructure and service application components
- Routine reporting on IT service levels and service availability
- Daily administration and support of production, test and development environments
- Upgrade and maintenance of all IT infrastructure
- Troubleshooting problems and performing preventative maintenance
- IT vendor and contract management
- IT life cycle management and asset management
- Documentation of key process and procedures
- Security hardening of IT infrastructure
- Out of house on call for critical issues
- Release Management


Skills / Experience:

- B.Sc. in Computer Science or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years experience in Systems Administration and Infrastructure Management
- Ability to create technical documentation
- Knowledge of MySQL, Apache, Linux and Microsoft Windows Administration
- Knowledge of network security and system hardening
- Exposure to virtualization products, in particular VMware environments
- Good understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP
- Excellent written, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to effectively plan
- Telecoms Knowledge would be an advantage
